Christina Aguilera has joined a new show called The Voice. Like ‘American Idol’ Aguilera will sit on a judges panel in the Jennifer Lopez/Paula Abdul position and judge a series of aspiring singers.
ABC hopes ‘The Voice’ will rival ‘American Idol’ in ratings, but I’m not so sure. If you wanted to see a singing competition, wouldn’t you just watch American Idol? Aguilera will sit on the judges panel with Cee-Lo and Adam Levine.
Anyway, this comes as a bright spot in an otherwise very dark day for Aguilera.
As we all know, she and her new boyfriend Matthew Rutler were pulled over after an intoxicated night out, making this the last in a series of turbulent alcohol-related events.
She said in a statement:
“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it. To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms.mI am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to ‘The Voice’.”
