Christina Aguilera’s public intoxication charges were dropped. Early this morning, Aguilera and boyfriend Matthew Rutler were pulled over after cops spotted Rutler driving erratically. While he was charged with drunk driving, Aguilera was also put in jail for what we thought was a drunk in public charge.
Not so, the cops told TMZ.com they released Aguilera as soon as she was sober enough to be on her own and have dropped the charges.
“We have no desire to prosecute, none whatsoever. It just for a public safety issue,” says Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore. “When she was able to navigate and to think on her own and make her own way, she was released. She was not capable to taking care of herself. She was incapacitated,” says Whitmore. “She was cooperative. She was not belligerent in any way whatsoever. She was just intoxicated.”
Wow! I wonder how drunk she was. Amazing. Hasn’t anyone ever told her to have a glass of water between drinks?
