Colin Farrell Bio
Colin Farrell is an Irish actor, who has appeared in many films including Tigerland, Daredevil, Miami Vice, Minority Report, Phone Booth, The Recruit, Alexander, S.W.A.T., and In Bruges. Farrell often plays the role of a tough bad guy, and takes that part to real life at times.
Farrell portrayed Alexander the Great in Oliver Stone’s Alexander (2004), which received favorable reviews internationally, but received mostly mediocre and negative reviews in the United States. It was highly controversial for portraying the ancient conqueror, though others praised it for being accurate. The movie grossed a total of $167 million worldwide, and earned about $17 million over its budget. Despite the controversy, Farrell performed this role masterfully.
On 11 January 2009, Colin won the Golden Globe award for Best Actor: Musical or Comedy, for his role in In Bruges. He co-starred with Brendan Gleeson in this movie. In other movies, this superb actor must drop his strong Irish dialect, and speak with an American accent, which always is convincing to the audience.
