Mario Lopez has come a long way from his AC Slater days and thinks he’d make a fantastic replacement for Regis Philbin. Regis Philbin announced his retirement from his gig co-hosting ‘It’s Live With Regis And Kelly’ last month, and Lopez thinks he’s just the man to replace him.
When Latina magazine told him that Daisy Fuentas also had her eye on the hosting chair prize, he said:
“They can’t do girls! Kelly won’t want that. Kelly wants to be the only girl up on there. I love Daisy but Kelly doesn’t want that. I’m honored just to be mentioned in the discussion. I love Regis and Kelly. I had a great time doing the show when I filled in many times. I’m looking forward to filling in more. Kelly and I get along great. We have great chemistry. I’m just flattered that they’re talking about me.”
