Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke says co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson had “instant chemistry.” While it’s basically assumed that the two stars are dating, neither will confirm or deny the allegations. Instead, they both either refuse to discuss the rumors or dance around the subject giving clever non-answers.
Hardwicke, however, says the two bonded almost immediately and even she thinks it was “love at first sight” for the pair.
“She felt connected to him from the first moment. That electricity, or love at first sight, or whatever it is,” Hardwicke says. “Kristen was like, ‘It’s got to be Rob!’ ” Hardwicke recalls.
Which isn’t to say Hardwicke didn’t have her reservations about a budding romance on set.
“You’ve got to realize that Kristen is 17 years old,” she told the actor, who is four years older than his costar. “She’s underage. You’ve got to focus, dude, or you’re going to be arrested. I made him swear on a stack of Bibles.”
Too bad that didn’t work! At least Kristen‘s legal now.
