ANNA PAQUIN Bio
Growing up in New Zealand, Anna Paquin‘s first critically acclaimed film, The Piano, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1994 at the age of 11; making Anna the second youngest winner in history (ahead of gifted actress Tatum O’Neal).
Her acting career sky rocketed in 1999, when she appeared in a string of successful films including She’s All That, Almost Famous, and the X-Men Franchise.
Paquin received critical acclaim for her role as Sookie Stackhouse for her role in the HBO series True Blood. She made entertainment news when she won the 2008 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama.
When The Piano was released in 1993, it was applauded by critics, winning prizes at innumerable film festivals, and became a popular movie worldwide. Paquin‘s debut performance in the film won her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She returned to worldwide fame with her role as the super-villain Rogue, in a series of X-Men movies in the early to mid 2000s.
On August 5, 2009, Paquin made headlines when her engagement to True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer was announced. August 21, 2010, Paquin and Moyer married in Malibu, California.
