New Jersey Senator Joe Kyrillos is sponsoring an ANTI-SNOOKI legislation! On top of that the Senator called SNOOKI a degenerate reality TV star! Ouch!
The Senator wasn’t happy that SNOOKI recently got paid $32,000 to speak at a campus event which is $2,000 more than what Nobel Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison is getting paid to speak during commencement in May.
In light of Snooki’s recent well paid appearance at Rutgers University, New Jersey Senator Kyrillos announced on his website Friday that he is planning to sponsor legislation that would reverse the way public universities collect student fees, instead allowing students to opt in to campus events requiring a fee. The $32,000 Snooki received for her appearance came from the mandatory student activity fee.
“Students ought not be forced to fund entertainment or events that they find objectionable,” Kyrillos said. “There were a great deal of Rutgers students who I am certain were uninterested or flat out outraged by Ms. Polizzi’s appearance on campus.”
Kyrillos went on to say that Snooki is “a degenerate reality television star who offers neither useful advice nor any appreciable talents.”
As to what Snooki talked about at her Rutgers appearance? Her hair pouf, her career as a reality show star and author, and, of course, the GTL lifestyle.
Her advice to the students: “Study hard, but party harder.”
Yeah, Senator’s got a point there. Next time, when a school invites another reality TV star, the students should be able to opt in and pay a fee. But I bet it will still be a full house though. People want fun stuff. What do you think? Would you go see Snooki say for $30 if she came to your school to talk about her hair pouf?
