Betty White has more time in front of a TV camera that anyone in history. She has spiced up sitcoms, game and variety shows since the early days of TV. With her typical charm, she often jokes that she started out in “silent television.” Hmmm, not far from actuality. White has been performing professionally for now over 60 years.

Probably s she is known best for the “daffy” Rose Nylund on “The Golden Girls” in the 1980s and early ’90s. In it, she played the role with three other women as a widows, all sharing a house in Miami. The show,”Golden Girls, was in the top to ratings for five years.

Since first appearing on TV in 1949, White had many Emmy nominations, and won the Emmy for the Sue Ann Nivens character in 1975 and 1976, while on the Mary Tyler Moore sitcom, and for Rose in 1986. Her bright blue eyes, dimples and winning smile, with that heart-shaped face always attracted attention, and helped her win many parts on comedy shows for decades.
