KATY PERRY must need money badly enough she’d scalp her fans off her own concert tickets. The imperious super diva, who plays America’s singing sweetheart in music videos only, likely found herself in such dire financial straits she added a rider to her 45-page tour contract ordering promoters to
‘hold back tickets for concerts so that Perry and her close staffers can shuffle them off to “resellers,” (read: scalpers) for “distribution to the public” on the “secondary market.”’
For the uninformed, the language of the contract rider gives Katy the right to make money out of ticket sales sold beyond their face value at inflated prices provided by scalpers.
Is this the same Katy who encouraged shy teenagers in “Firework” to become as confident as she is, they’d cheat scalp concert tickets to make extra money?
Hollywood gossip news is quite used to hearing about rock and roll stars and their massive ego-fueled and incredibly absurd tour riders (and we mean see-through refrigerators, wall-to-wall fur carpets, hundreds of white towels, boxes of twinkies, absolutely no alcohol), but this takes the cake on greed.
