KIRSTIE ALLEY is DWTS’ only corpulent contestant and regardless of the fact she’s done amazingly well, she admits she entered the show to lose weight. Alley is your classic yo-yo dieter who seems to lose weight only to put more on, and her latest scheme – Dancing With The Stars – does certainly have Alley looking more svelte than before.
So what’s the secret to her 30-40 pound weight loss? A crushingly strict diet of only 1400 calories a day. But, really, is that too little for someone who exercises as much as she does? It isn’t just celebrity gossip, afterall – she is actually somewhat starving herself.
“I think with this strenuous, rigorous dance schedule, I think it’s going to work. Usually what I do to lose weight, I eat 1,400 calories, but I guess if I’m working out five or seven hours then you have to change it around a little bit.”
According to the source, Alley‘s dancing partner Maxim Chmerkovskiy has urged her to try out a more merciful diet of about 2,000 calories instead.
