Such is the love LADY GAGA harbors for her fans, she went bankrupt for her “Little Monsters,” and she wasn’t even aware of it until the middle of one of her concert tours. How is it possible for the most powerful, and surely one of the most wealthy celebrities (at $227 million gross) to go bankrupt mid-tour?
It happened in the middle of her Monster Ball tour, during that same time, Gaga had five number 1 singles out, and the tour selling a full house with 200 shows in front of over 2.5 million people…
“I put everything in the show and I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of the [tour]. And it was funny because I didn’t know! They said, ‘Well, you’re $3 million in debt’.”
Gaga went in the red due to the elaborate costumes she insisted on wearing for her “Little Monsters,” showing just how dedicated she is to them. According to the “Born This Way” singer, she couldn’t have bankrupted herself as the only big ticket items she’d got since becoming famous were a new heart valve for her dad, and a Rolls Royce for her parents on their anniversary.
