MARIAH CAREY‘s good name will remain untarnished as Child Protective Services have decided that she isn’t, in fact, a bad mother. Shorty after giving birth to her twins, rumors swirled that she was an unfit mother and boozing it up while breastfeeding. Needless to say, a huge no-no.
Alas, it appears Carey won’t have her children taken away, afterall. According to several celebrity gossip websites, the songbird has been behaving herself. In fact, it was all a nurse’s fault! As her husband Nick Cannon explains:
“Child Protective Services actually came to me,” Cannon said, “And said that they were here to see me because there had been allegations that there was drug and alcohol use during the stay in the hospital. It all started when a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yeast improves breastfeeding,” Cannon added. “I don’t know if someone heard that [and] were saying my wife was drinking beer. People will do anything to try to conjure up a story.”
Well, Carey does have a boozy reputations. But it’s good to hear she’s changed her ways (at least for now) while caring for her two babies.
