ABC’s planning a reboot of CHARLIE’S ANGELS next season, and entertainment news today has been wondering – where are the original Charlie’s Angels now? In case you weren’t around in the 70′s, the three-strong pretty woman power TV series produced by the late Aaron Spelling rocked every feminist’s world, and tickled every guy’s nethers during its five season run…

The three original Angels, pictured above were (from left to right)  Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson, and Farrah Fawcett. Check out where they are and what they’re up to now…

First  on our list is Jaclyn Smith, who played Kelly Garret, and was the only Angel to remain on the series for all five seasons. She starred opposite Richard Chamberlain in the first “The Bourne Identity” movie, did some modeling gigs and product endorsements as her star power waned, and was named “the most beautiful woman in the world in the late 80′s. The 63-year-old now markets her own perfume and clothing line for Kmart:

Kate Jackson is probably the lowest profile Angel of all the stars who’ve fought crime for the disembodied Charlie. Kate played Sabrina Duncan for three seasons. The multi-Golden Globes nominee then starred in the highly popular television spy series, “The Scarecrow and Mrs. King”, and after a battle with breast cancer, current entertainment news came upon the 62-year-old who’s now a spokesperson for the American Heart Association:

Last but not the least is the heavenly body that was Farrah Fawcett, who’s even now playing her angel’s harp in the afterlife. Farrah was the ultimate object of male lust during the 70′s for her iconic red bathing suit poster that sold over 12 million copies across America, cementing her status as a sex symbol . Her feathery mane was equally lusted after by women of all ages, making her a pop culture icon, as well.

Farrah did the critically acclaimed off-Broadway play, “Extremities”, which was later adopted to film, and the TV movie “Burning Bed”, which garnered her one of four Emmy nominations.  Farrah posed nude for Playboy twice (1995 and 1997) before becoming a sculptress and a painter (using her own body as the canvass). Sadly, Fawcett was diagnosed with cancer in 2006, and after putting up a brave fight, died  in 2009 at the age of 62.

After the success of the Charlie’s Angels movie franchise starring Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz, we wonder if the new ABC series featuring Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor, and Annie Ilonzeh will make the grade on the small screen. You be the judge soon…
