You’ve got to give it to him, “Sugar” Shane Mosely lasted a whole twelve rounds against reigning WBC Junior Middleweight champion, Manny Pacquiao, and didn’t once give in to Pacquiao‘s “knock-out inducing” left fist.

Pacquiao outpointed Mosely 119-108, 120-108 and 120-107 in a 12-round bout that was more a dance than a fight. Mosely looked quite content to do a jig around the ring, chased by the reigning champ.

“I was surprised he ran and ran,”

current news quotes Pacquiao as saying.

This gave rise to speculations that the fight may have been rigged for betting purposes. With tens upon thousands of people placing millions of dollars on the outcome of the much-anticipated MGM Garden Arena fight in Las Vegas tonight, perhaps the fighters were constrained to make the bout last nearly an hour? And that hour already included their national anthems sung by international YouTube and “Glee” pop sensation, Charice, and Tyrese Gibson, of “Transformers” and “Fast Five” fame, respectively.

Perhaps Mosely only wanted to tire Manny out before going for what should have been the kill?

One can’t help but respect the effort Mosely gave tonight. After all, he has 10 years on a much younger and faster Pacquiao, and held the pound-for-pound title a decade ago. A distinction Manny now holds.

Did you think the fight was rigged?
