Apparently being a bald badass has something to do with it. The Vin Diesel starrer ‘Fast Five’ edged out all but ‘Thor’ in an $83.6 million box office explosion across North America.
The film, also starring Paul Walker, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jordana Brewster, and Elsa Pataky set a record during its April debut, making it Universal Studios’ best performer at opening weekend.
‘Fast Five’ also earned $45.3 million overseas and $8.3 million from IMAX, with total worldwide sales of $165 million. For a fourth sequel in the franchise, that isn’t such a bad showing at all.
