Entertainment news tells us that NICK LACHEY and VANESSA MINNILLO are going to air their wedding on TV! According to reports, TLC will be airing a one-time special of the couple’s special day, entitled ‘Nick & Vanessa’s Dream Wedding.’
Hmmm. Reality TV wedding? Looks like Nick hasn’t learned his lesson.
Nick and Vanessa plan to put their wedding on air—not just the ceremony, but also the events that precede it. Good news for all of the Nick-Vanessa fans out there—but possibly bad news for the couple, if you factor in the “Reality TV Divorce Curse” (there isn’t a single couple who let themselves be taped on a reality show that didn’t end up getting divorced).
Back in 2002, Nick was in about the same place he was now—but with his former wife, Jessica Simpson. He was happy and in love. But then, the couple decided to air their day-to-day lives on a reality show called ‘Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica’—it all went downhill from there. And now it seems that Nick has come full circle.
Despite the déjà vu-ness of it all, Nick will not be dissuaded. A source says:
“Nick feels like his marriage to Jessica was so long ago… He’s not letting that stop him from taping this. They’ve already started filming their wedding festivities and it’s not a reality show. It’s just a special.”
Nick and Vanessa also released a statement regarding their decision:
“We’re lucky to have such passionate and loving fans, and we thought partnering with TLC on this special would be the best way to share the exciting journey we’re on with all the people that support us and our relationship.”
No word yet on when the wedding will actually be, but we’re pretty sure it’ll be soon since Vanessa has already had her bachelorette party!
Though we’re happy for them, we can’t help but ask… Is Nick making the same mistake over again?
