Proving that brunettes are better, Miss California ALYSSA CAMPANELLA bested 50 other contestants to grab the Miss USA title in Las Vegas. A former first runner up of Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2007, Alyssa is currently based in Pasadena, California, and with her present win replaces 2010 winner Rima Fakih.
Hollywood celebrity news noted Alyssa wowed judges with her looks and poise, and didn’t bat an eyelash when asked the tough question on whether marijuana should be legalized. She answered “medical marijuana should be legal, but otherwise banned.”
Alyssa, who is closely followed by runner up, Miss Tennessee, Ashley Elizabeth Durham, will be representing the USA in the Miss Universe pageant in September.
