According to the latest Hollywood gossip, CHARLIZE THERON swears that she is never going to get married! In the past Charlize declared that she wasn’t going to get married unless gay marriages were legalized. Now that it’s become legal in New York and a few other states, she’s revealed that she still won’t get married. EVER.
Charlize went on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight and said:
“Marriage — before I felt this way about [marriage equality] — was never something that was important to me… I don’t know the exact reason for that.”
She added:
“Some would say because I came from a very troubled marriage… My parents did not have a good marriage, but I don’t think it’s that.”
So if she’s not interested in marriage, what exactly does she want? Charlize answered:
“A long-term relationship…That’s the kind of union that I want… The actual ceremony is not something that is important to me — but I see the importance for other people.”
Charlize obviously doesn’t have commitment issues—after all, she was with ex-boyfriend Stuart Townsend for nearly 10 years before breaking up with him last year.
Isn’t it a bit strange that she’s so down on marriage, while at the same time she’s an adamant supporter of marriage equality?
