FAT JOE is no longer fat! According to the latest celebrity news, he has just lost a whopping 88 pounds! Maybe he should be thinking of new names… Phat Joe? Thinner Joe? Just Joe?
Fat Joe’s appearance has undergone a dramatic change after he lost 88 pounds in the span of nine months—and all without pills or crazy fad diets.
The rapper started to make a real effort to lose weight after seven of his friends—who were all in their 30s—died from heart attacks last year.
He says:
“What’s the difference between me and them? Health doesn’t discriminate just because I’m famous.”
Fat Joe (maybe we should just call him Joe?) slowly began to shed the pounds after ditching his old meal habits and switching to six small meals of fruits and veggies, whole grains and lean meats every day. He also got himself a trainer and added two-hour cardio and weight-lifting sessions to his get-slim plan.
He jokes:
“I was always LL Cool J in a fat guy’s body.”
Fans got a look at Fat Joe’s surprisingly slimmer physique in his new music video, ‘Drop a Body’, which went live last Tuesday. He was Fat Joe no longer, and if it weren’t for his voice (and his name on the title of the video), no one would’ve even known it was him… maybe.
After his dramatic weight loss, Fat Joe’s friends began calling him “Skinny Joe” and “Joey Flaco” (flaco is Spanish for “thin” or “skinny”). He shares:
“They’re all trying to alter my name, but I can’t see myself as anything else… I think I gotta ask Diddy what my new name is.”
Fat Joe also shares that vanity was not his motivation—he did this for his daughter, 5-year old Azaryah:
“I can’t leave my daughter behind… I want to be here for her; I don’t want to die on her.”
