When asked about CHARLIE SHEEN’s public meltdown, JON CRYER admits that no one saw it coming. And by “no one,” he means not him nor anyone else on the set of ‘Two and a Half Men’, which they were filming right around the time it happened.
Jon appeared on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ and shed some light on how Charlie went from a famous TV star to the infamous, pornstar-loving Hollywood joke he is now. The ‘Two and a Half Men’ actor admits that he had no idea where it even began:
“It’s as much a mystery to me as to everybody, I think.”
And who could blame them for not seeing the signs? There’s really no book on “How To Tell When Your Famous Co-Star Is Slowly Going Nuts” or something like that, isn’t there? Jon says:
“This has never happened before.”
He adds:
“It wasn’t like, ‘Back in 1963 everybody remembers when Fred MacMurray went bats*** and started talking about freemason ninjas and stuff. He was crazy! And Vivian Vance started urinating on the set of ‘Here’s Lucy.””
Even after the big, explosive debacle of Sheen’s meltdown, which is continuously grabbing headlines on Hollywood news and gossip sites, Jon shares that he and his troubled former co-star are still friends.
David protested:
“He called you names… He called you a troll or something.”
Jon agrees:
“Yes… As friends do.”
Does Jon really believe he can still call Charlie his friend?
