JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS was hospitalized after a possible suicide attempt in London this week, according to a Hollywood news report. Meyers is believed to have downed pills.
Meyers, 33, was found slumped on the floor of his own home by paramedics answering an emergency call on Tuesday night. He refused treatment at the scene for over 30 minutes and paramedics had to call police. He was sent to a hospital nearby his home in Central London.
A source said: “This is very sad. It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life.”
Meyers was discharged in the early hours yesterday. When asked later how he was, red-eyed Meyers told The Sun: “No comment.”
The handsome Bend It Like Beckham star has been battling alcohol addiction over the years. Earlier this month Meyers had checked into a five-star rehab in South Africa, that was his fifth stint in rehab so surely he wants to get cleaned up.
He has spoken his booze addiction in the past and he admitted: “When I do drink I’m like Bambi. I’m all over the place like a 16-year-old kid.
It’s sad, any sort of addiction is very sad. We wish him the best of luck.
