Celebrity news tells us that BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL believes he could have saved his ex-wife, AMY WINEHOUSE. Seriously? But wasn’t he the one who introduced her to heroin and crack cocaine?
Blake himself admitted to introducing his former wife to drugs, which means he may have been the main culprit behind her substance abuse—but now he’s saying really thinks that he could have also been the guy to help her get back on track. Blake’s father, Larry Fielder, tells TMZ that his son had firsthand knowledge and understanding of Amy’s drug addiction, and that he had planned to help her battle it by staging an intervention the moment he was released from prison.
Unfortunately, Blake won’t be released until March of next year, and Amy passed away before he could do anything to help her out.
The thing is, Blake and Amy—back when they were married—were co-dependent addicts, and they couldn’t help each other get clean even if they wanted to. However, though Blake is a bit misguided, his heart seems to be in the right place. Larry revealed that Blake called him right after he found out about Amy’s death, and that he was crying hysterically. Of course, if he was really planning an intervention for her, the news that he was too late must have been extremely painful.
We can’t help but feel bad for Blake, but… does he really believe he could have helped get Amy clean?
