KIM KARDASHIAN is suing Old Navy in a bid to get them to stop using her lookalike in their ads. Kim brought in the big guns against the clothing store and its mother company, Gap Inc., alleging the ads “violated her publicity rights” by featuring a woman (model, Melissa Molinaro) who looks exactly like her..and get this Melissa is apparently seeing Kim’s ex Reggie Bush.
Really now. We weren’t aware Kim applied at the U.S. Patent Office for a trademark on her…er…general appearance.
Celebrity news took a look at Kim‘s lawsuit where it claims the Old Navy ads have confused consumers with the other products that Kim does endorse, such as her shoe and clothing line.
It also states that Kim:
“has invested substantial time, energy, finances and entrepreneurial effort in developing her considerable professional and commercial achievements and success, as well as in developing her popularity, fame, and prominence in the public eye.”
Well honey, so has Old Navy. Wouldn’t you call them even?
Kim‘s suing for unspecified damages and wants the store to stop using Melissa Molinaro to model in its ads.
And let this be a warning to all you vaguely Kim-looking Armenian girls…you better not get in the spotlight too, else Kimmy‘ll be suing your asses (pun intended) in court.
