Clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch have offered to pay the cast of “Jersey Shore”, and in particular, MIKE “THE SITUATION” SORRENTINO not to wear their clothes. Ouch.
Celebrity news suspects the guidos and guidettes wear these fashions so badly the brand is highly ashamed to find them clad in their products. Abercrombie & Fitched has released a statement saying:
“We are deeply concerned that Mr Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image.”
No wonder The Situation‘s looking stumped. He has no idea his image had sunk so low.
“We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans.”
And the teen clothing brand has offered an undisclosed sum to the cast of “Jersey Shore” to please lay off their threads.
But Abercrombie & Fitch continue to sell their “The Fituation” t-shirts on their website, which followed the “Jersey Shore” slogan t-shirt “GTL” (gym, tanning, laundry) series. So isn’t it a bit hypocritical of the brand to release their “cease and desist”?
“It’s a clever PR stunt and we’d love to work with them on other ways they can leverage Jersey Shore to reach the largest youth audience on television,”
an MTV spokesperson has said.
Touche.
