“I flew to Zimbabwe where I was doing a documentary,”
Somerhalder tells celebrity news.
“I met a scientist named Allan Savory. He’s figured out a way to reverse climate change, literally through agriculture. So I’m directing this documentary about him with Geoff Shotz, our camera director on Vampire Diaries…The goal of the movie is to win Allan Savory a Nobel Prize for agriculture, which has never been done.”
It seems Somelhalder cares deeply about the environment. He was the first celebritiy who put serious time into the cleanup after the Deepwater Horizon oil drilling disaster last year, and has been featured in countless YouTube videos alerting the public on the horrific effects oil spills have on the environment.
In fact, this hunky bloodsucker is currently in the process of setting up The Ian Somerhalder Foundation, which he hopes will educate people on the importance of protecting the environment and animals.
