Entertainment news tells us that NAYA RIVERA will be leaving ‘Glee’ after Season 3 along with “New Directions” superstars LEA MICHELE, CORY MONTEITH, and CHRIS COLFER! Oh noooo!
Naya, who plays sassy lesbian cheerleader Santana, thinks that she will be one of the main characters who will be leaving ‘Glee’ after the big graduation. She tells E! Online:
“I’m a senior. I guess that means I’m graduating. That’s what happens when you’re a senior! I don’t think it’s a thing… It’s like, what is it when you’re in high school? You’re a senior, you graduate. Yes, I’m graduating this year.”
When asked about her feelings on leaving the show, Naya shares:
“It will always be bittersweet because this is like our baby and we’ve been with it since the beginning and it’s always sad. It’s literally like the feeling of being in high school. It’s bittersweet, but it happens. That’s what you do. I’ve had a great run and hopefully it continues.”
As for Santana’s post-high school future, she says:
“Hopefully she gets into some type of college, but I think she’s going to be a hot mess in college.”
It’s actually quite questionable that Santana will be graduating with the others, since she and ditzy blonde cheerleader Brittany (played by Heather Morris) aren’t all that good with schoolwork. But if Naya’s character does graduate next season, what will happen to the Santana-Brittany (or “Brittana”) love affair? The ‘Glee’ star says:
“If they get together, awesome. I know there’s a bunch of fans that want that to happen… But if they don’t, then they don’t and I think that’s another thing that you can explore.”
This is so sad! It seems like so many of them are leaving after ‘Glee’ Season 3, and hardly any of the old characters will be left!

Being the ultimate fan of Glee, it’s hard for me to say it, but I think if Naya leaves, I will being leaving with her. I’ve followed Glee since the very beginning and have grown to love Santana, along with Brittany. But recently I’ve heard things about season 3 that suggest that Brittana (or Santitany as the writers prefer it) might not happen, and personally I think that that’s the best thing the show has to offer right now..
Can’t say I’ll be tuning in. I mean come on, why get rid of ALL the characters, why not jump 5 years or something had have some of them come back like Santana, Rachel, and Kurt to teach or something, it just doesn’t seem right to get rid of them all, they’ll lose so many fans if they do that.
