LADY GAGA—or JO CALDERONE, to be more accurate—fell off a piano during her opening performance at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Thankfully, Gaga/Jo wasn’t hurt or injured in any way.
Gaga was in the middle of performing her latest single “You & I” at the MTV VMAs when she fell of her piano while trying to climb down. The singer, who was dressed as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone, had been dancing on top of the upright piano—which looked exactly like the one her male version was sitting on in the song’s music video.
For a change, teen queen MILEY CYRUS opted to get all covered up at the 2011 MTV VMAs—a definite departure from her usually revealing outfits, which are always a subject of criticism on celebrity gossip websites.

Miley ditched her usual racy outfits and wore a long-sleeved, black, gold and turquoise Robero Cavalli gown, which was adorned with leopard print detail on the top half and floral detail on the bottom. She accessorized with a Lorraine Schwartz diamond necklace, gold drop earrings, and an assortment of cocktail rings.

Nicki graced the VMAs in an insanely bright—and very wacky—ensemble, which was easily the most out-of-this-world outfit there—no contest! The “Super Bass” rapper wore a “dress” that was made of what looked like shards of purple mirror glass “sewn” together with some kind of pink thread, which she layered over a pink polka-dotted tutu. Her legs were fully covered in an assortment of colorful leggings and socks.
