Wondering why KIM KARDASHIAN‘s marrying KRIS HUMPHRIES when she just met him last winter? Let’s take a look back and you’ll be surprised that quickie weddings are tradition in the KARDASHIAN KLAN. Since Hollywood rumors and everybody else is going on and on about Kim‘s wedding this coming Saturday, let’s trace all the successive nuptials in the family that’ve occurred in virtually the blink of an eye:
1. Kristine Mary Houghton and Robert Kardashian Sr.
Before she became the Kardashian momager, Kris was a flight attendant who met prominent lawyer Robert Kardashian Sr. while passing him with her drink cart in 1978. She was 22 and he was 12 years older. They married the very same year, and divorced 10 years later, post-OJ Simpson‘s acquittal and after begetting four soon-to-be infamous popular siblings.
2. Kris Kardashian and Bruce Jenner
Two years after divorcing Robert Sr., Kris Kardashian, single mom of four, went on a blind date with 1976 Olympic runner and single dad of four, Bruce Jenner. They married in less than a year, blending their families, adding two more children of their own, and thus was born the Kardashian Klan. If they’re still happily together after 20 years, why isn’t it known as the Jenner Clan, you ask? Well, its not as if that’s snazzy and marketable enough, at least as far as momager Kris is koncerned.
3. Kim Kardashian and Damon Thomas
Nineteen-year-old stylist to the stars Kim wed music producer Damon Thomas in a quickie Vegas ceremony. They divorced four years later, with Kim accusing Thomas of abuse, and Thomas denying all charges while bad-mouthing Kim as a money-hungry social climber. No happy marriage, that.
4. Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom
Khloe met L.A. Lakers player Lamar in August 2009, got engaged to him a month later, and wed the following week! Khloe takes the cake for having the quickest wedding in the Kardashian Klan, surprising even the rest of her quickie wedding-prone family.
5. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
Which brings us to the very reason for this post…Kim and Kris, who’re scheduled to be man and wife tomorrow after eight months of dating, unless ex-Reggie Bush shows up and wrecks broken-hearted havoc on all of Kim‘s careful preparations, that is.
So, who’s placing bets on how slow or fast Kourtney will follow suit down the aisle, or if Rob, Kylie and Kendall go the quickie way, as well?
