CHER‘s on the warpath…she went all outraged mother hen and defended her daughter…uh…son, CHAZ BONO against critics who’ve slammed his coming stint on “Dancing With The Stars.”
Hollywood gossip websites read some of the Academy-award winner’s tweets, and they were all aimed at people who’ve been taking potshots at heavyset Chaz‘s attempts to dance his way to fame and fortune on television. Most prominently, Cher defended her son, formerly known as Chastity Bono, for his decision to have a sex change towards his gender of choice.
“This is Still America right? It took guts 2 do it,”
tweeted an infuriated Cher.
“Mothers don’t stop Getting angry with stupid bigots who (mess) with their children!”
She further slammed viewers and self-proclaimed Christians who’ve reacted to ABC’s choice of Chaz as a contestant, saying it was “disgusting” and “offensive” to audiences.
For his part, Chaz is plugging gamely on, describing himself as “the luckiest guy around,” and thanking his fans and his mom for all their support.
“Thanks for all your support mom. The haters are just motivating me to work harder and stay on DWTS as long as I possibly can.”
Way to go, Chaz. And while you’re at it, make like Kirstie Alley and drop 50 pounds or so.

cher there are so many children who need their mothers love and support with the minor things problems of life and do not get it and you are one of the most wonderful mothers who stand with their child no matter what thank you cher for being the mom that i admire our children need us God will deal with the idiots that use his name to make their opinions right

i don’t agree with people saying chaz is disgusting or offensive, but personally i don’t think he’s a very good dancer. he’s had the lowest scores of all the dancers, and i really think he should be voted off because he’s the worst dancer out of all of them. he has a nice personality, but dancing with the stars isn’t supposed to be a personality contest
