According to current entertainment news, 64-year-old Close will be playing the title role in Rodrigo Garcia’s  “Albert Nobbs, ” a 19th century Irish woman who tries to pass herself off as a man to work as a waiter in a pub.

Close, who’s as feminine as they come, had to work on her posture, her voice and her fashion choices.

“I loved Nobbs because in her ignorance, she tries to create a life for herself,”

she says of her character.

Still, this isn’t the first cross-dressing role Close has played. She had a cameo as one of the pirates in Steven Spielberg‘s 1991 fantasy film “Hook,” in which she had to “arrrr!” with the rest of them.

Is Close‘s “Albert Nobbs” performance Oscar-worthy? Take a look at this and find out…
