According to the latest celebrity news, LADY GAGA has vowed to help make bullying illegal after learning of bullied teen Jamey Rodemeyer’s recent suicide. The Mother Monster will reportedly take it upon herself to bring the issue to the attention of the White House and is seeking a meeting with the President himself.
Lady Gaga, who has been very vocal about her support for the gay community, is distraught over the heartbreaking suicide of Jamey, the 14-year-old boy who posted the “It Gets Better” video—an uplifting message to all the other bullied gay teens—on YouTube a few months ago.
After learning of Jamey’s suicide, the singer tweeted:
“The past days I’ve spent reflecting, crying, and yelling. I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someones life.”
She added:
“Jamey Rodemeyer, 14 yrs old, took his life because of bullying. Bullying must become be illegal. It is a hate crime.”
Proving that her fight against bullying is no empty threat, Gaga again tweeted:
“I am meeting with our President. I will not stop fighting. This must end. Our generation has the power to end it. Trend it #MakeALawForJamey”
We’re also deeply saddened by Jamey‘s death and we hope that Gaga can indeed do something to help prevent bullying from taking another life.
RIP, Jamey Rodemeyer.
