“Price Is Right” model LANISHA COLE has a bone to chew with the producers of the show…she just sued them for sexual harassment shortly after leaving one of the longest running game shows in the U.S.
Lanisha left the show in 2010 for unknown reasons, right at the peak of her popularity as an audience favorite. Her job at that time was revealing actual prices of household items for the contestants and viewing audience. Lanisha revealed to Hollywood rumors that producers of the show had subjected her, not only to sexual harassment, but also to wrongful termination, failure to take steps to prevent harassment, false imprisonment, and infliction of emotional distress…
Lanisha had been a “Price Is Right” model since 2003, and in 2009, she reported that producers Michael G. Richards and Adam Sandler (not the actor)…
“took an interest in another model and began to favor her while shunning Cole. The suit claims that her work on the show was limited using policies “which never before existed.”
Sandler also barged into her dressing room without knocking, despite a sign posted outside a door, and berated her in front of her other co-models while she was half naked and frantically trying to cover herself.
“Sandler deliberately humiliated Ms. Cole in front of her peers.”
Lanisha‘s attorney said.
“This case is about senior-level men in the entertainment industry exploiting power and control over women by bullying and harassing female talent. Ms. Cole did nothing to provoke Richards and Sandler. Once the harassment began, she was powerless to stop it.”
“Price Is Right” host Drew Carey, who was not named in the suit, had no comment.
Poor Lanisha Cole. We bet there’s a sad story of this kind of harassment behind the smiling faces of a lot of beautiful women working in Hollywood.
