English singer ADELE will be out of commission from now until 2012 to undergo throat surgery for voice problems. Adele has canceled every show, concert and appearance she’d scheduled for the rest of 2011 until doctor’s say she’ll be ready to use her vocal cords again…
Celebrity news notes that Adele had already pushed back her U.S. tour twice due to throat problems that included laryngitis, and even when rest didn’t heal her inflamed singing valves, her doctors finally ordered surgery.
There must be some sort of epidemic going on. First John Mayer cancels shows for surgery to remove a granuloma from the top of his vocal cords. And now Adele…
“It is with deep regret that Adele has been forced to cancel her remaining live dates and promotional appearances in 2011,”
her website reads.
“She is to undergo surgery to alleviate the current issues with her throat and a full recovery is expected. As a result, doctors have ordered her to rest her voice and completely recuperate before looking to schedule any work commitments.”
So do we blame free radicals floating around in the environment or are these singers’ lifestyles to blame?
Hopefully, both Adele and John Mayer will be healthy and throat-worthy enough by next year’s Grammy awards, where we hear Adele‘s up for at least a half dozen major nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Running in the Deep”, and Album of the Year for “21″.
