French actress BERENICE MARLOHE has been chosen to play the new Bond girl to play opposite DANIEL CRAIG in the still-to-be-announced 007 movie which marks Craig‘s third installment as the debonair British spy, and the 23rd film in the long running franchise which began in the 1960′s.
Marlohe follows Ukrainian model-turned-actress Olga Kurlyenko and English actress Gemma Arterton, who both starred in the 22nd Bond film “Quantum of Solace in 2008. Come to think of it, celebrity news kind of thinks Marlohe has the same look Kurlyenko has – a long, leggy doe-eyed brunette with a hint of the exotic.
Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes picked Marlohe from among a lineup of Bond girl hopefuls who screen tested at Pinewood Studios, and the as yet to be titled film is currently in pre-production.
Apart from Daniel Craig, who’ll be reprising his role as the brutal, granite-faced James Bond, Dame Judi Dench returns as his boss, M, and “Eat, Pray, Love” Spanish actor, Javier Bardem will be playing the bad guy, and in a new twist on the usually traditional Bond films, Naomi Harris will essay the role of the first black Moneypenny, M’s ever-loyal secretary who harbors a secret crush on Agent 007.
Another surprise: expect two “Harry Potter” stars to make an appearance. Ralph Fiennes, who played Voldemort, and Helen McCrory, who was Draco’s mum, Narcissa Malfoy will be playing top secret roles…that kind that, if we tell you, we’d have to kill you.
