KATY PERRY spent her 27th birthday Occupying Wall Street with husband RUSSELL BRAND. We admire Katy for trying to have a more meaningful celebration now she’s encroaching towards the territory of 30, but what kind of mixed message is she sending by supporting the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York and then going home to her and Russell‘s $4 million love nest in Los Angeles?
We wonder if being part of that 1% the OWS protestors are griping about is sticking sideways through her throat now…
Still, one can’t fault Katie for trying to give instead of receive. She also tweeted out to fans to please donate to her special animal charity for her birthday.

Katy and Russell biked from their luxury Manhattan Dream hotel and joined fellow celebrity Russell Simmons at New York City’s Zuccotti Park where protestors have been camped out for over a month peacefully calling for the downfall of financial greed.
So far, a handful of A-listers have already made known their support for OWS, which has snowballed into a global movement this past month.
Wonder how long it will take before OWS becomes the poster child of celebrity publicity seekers who’ll take advantage of the photo opportunity and appear alongside protestors for paparazzi and Hollywood gossip websites.
