Libyan Dictator MUAMMAR GADDAFI, who was captured alive by rebel fighters in his hometown of Sirte a couple of hours ago, is dead.
Current news says the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear. Bloody, half-naked and disoriented, he was cornered by insurgents in Sirte where some of his last remaining supporters had a stronghold.
“Keep him alive, keep him alive!”
A voice shouts as a camera filmed footage of the most wanted man in the world being dragged off a vehicle’s bonnet by his long unruly curls…
But a shot rings out just as the camera veers away. Muammar Gaddafi had been shot dead.
“They captured him alive and while he was being taken away, they beat him and then they killed him,”
a senior source from the Libya’s National Transitional Council (NTC) told Reuters.
“He might have been resisting.”
Gaddafi‘s body was delivered to Misrata, a city near Sirte which had suffered most from Gaddafi‘s artillery and sniper fire, making it a symbol of the rebel fighter’s cause.
According to the NTC, a quick and secret burial will be scheduled for later today.
