Beatle Sir PAUL MCCARTNEY married wife number three, New York transportation heiress NANCY SHEVELL in civil rites witnessed only by the closest family members and friends. Quite a far cry from his lavish castle wedding to wife number four Heather Mills, who gave him much grief and cost him a fortune during their bitter divorce proceedings.
Good thing, Nancy Shevell has her own money, and they’ve been dating since 2007, which may be enough time for a fuddy-daddy like Paul to consent to settle down…
And while they had an intensely private ceremony at London’s Marylebone Town Hall, they were greeted by hordes of well-wishers at the steps of the courthouse, and entertainment news today thought the brouhaha was comparable to a milder version of screaming fans crying and tearing their hair off during the Beatles’ heydays.
The bride wore a long-sleeved knee-length white dress designed by Paul‘s daughter, the famous Stella McCartney, and wouldn’t you know it, they wed in the same town hall Paul married his first wife, Linda in 1969, who he remained married to until 1998 when Linda, his “strength and courage” died of breast cancer.
Let’s hope Nancy Shevell remains with Paul for the duration…till death do them part. And they don’t really need a prenup, do they? It’s been confirmed — they have none. Nancy’s loaded. Good for Sir Paul. At least he won’t be fleeced if this marriage goes to the dogs…
