Hollywood news reports that British comedian RUSSELL BRAND has been denied entry to yet another country… and this time, it’s Canada. The actor was first denied entry to Japan earlier this year—for unknown reasons—and now we have learned that he was recently barred from entering the Land of the Maple Leaf.
Russell, who was supposed to do a show at the Casino Rama in Orillia, Canada, was denied entry to the country yesterday. While the comedian was still on his plane, he tweeted:
“HELP! I’m gonna be late for Casino Rama show unless someone can force Canadian customs officials to let us land in Orillia!”
A few minutes later, while still being denied entry, Russell (always the comedian) tried to make fun of the situation and tweeted:
“How do you manipulate customs officials? Wasn’t Hitler’s father a customs officer? I’m pretty sure he was.”
After hours of trying (in vain) to enter Canada, Russell again tweeted:
“Let me in! I must perform at Casino Rama, Orillia tonight at 9 for 5,000 Canadians.”
When he finally realized that he was absolutely barred from entering the country, Russell was forced to postpone his show. The actor announced:
“Tonight’s Casino Rama show postponed. I’m sorry. I can’t enter Canada. We must abolish the borders between our nations AND our minds.”
Back in May, Russell faced a similar situation when he accompanied wife Katy Perry to Japan, where she was scheduled to do a concert. The British comic was deported while Katy, of course, got in.
Seriously, why do these countries hate Russell so much? Sure, his jokes can be a bit offensive, but that doesn’t mean he should be treated like a terrorist… right?
