A dentist bought a piece of JOHN LENNON memorabilia which just happened to be the late Beatle’s rotting molar for a record $30,500…the most money probably plunked down for a single tooth, and a yellowing, decayed one at that.
Celebrity news thinks if a tooth fairy had to pay up that much for a tooth, it’d have to refinance it’s wings to pony up that kind of cash…
But that’s just what Canadian dentist Michael Zuk did when he began a frenzied bid for John Lennon‘s tooth over the phone during an auction at Omega Auction House. The gruesome artifact had turned an overall sickly yellow and features a huge cavity with dark brown spots.
The tooth was reportedly pulled out by John Lennon himself after it had been bothering him for quite a while. He gave the molar to his housekeeper to dispose of, but instead of throwing it in the trash, the housekeeper turned it over to her daughter, who happened to be a huge Beatles fan.
“Once I heard it was up for sale I had to have it,”
insisted Zuk, who once penned a book on celebrity teeth.
“Some people will think its gross, others will be fascinated by it.”
Zuk, who intends to display it in his office said.
The tooth was initially valued at $15,000, but apparently Zuk thought it was worth twice that amount. This is a guy who will be pulling a lot of teeth for a year just to recover the amount he shelled out for John Lennon‘s rotting fang.
