Country singer KEITH URBAN has joined sufferers of an unexplained throat epidemic among entertainers in Hollywood that requires him to have surgery in December.
Nicole Kidman‘s husband is scheduled to have a polyp removed from his vocal cords, star news learned. And we’re wondering if there’s some kind of voice curse that’s been following celebrities around since October, given that Urban‘s the fourth case we’ve reported so far…
He follows in the footsteps of John Mayer (granuloma removal), Adele (vocal cord hemmorhage), and Marie Osmond (really bad bronchitis) who’ve been taken out of commission in the last two months for throat-related conditions…
“The surgery, an out-patient procedure, while minor, will require complete voice rest followed by an undetermined period of recuperation,”
Urban‘s rep has said in a statement.
Is it just us, or are music-makers these day going under the knife in drives to preserve their pipes? Either the mass number is merely a coincidence, or there must be a very serious outbreak of throat illness going around in Hollywood.
