It seems Marty McFly never left MICHAEL J. FOX, because he brought his “Back To The Future” character’s awesomeness to the fore by shredding an electric guitar just like the good old days at “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s” benefit in New York. Hard to believe this guy’s actually suffering from Parkinson’s disease…

The 50-year-old actor, who made his hay in the 80′s with his boyish grin in the “Back To The Future” franchise ripped onstage with his signature red electric guitar and showed everyone who was boss. Predictably, there was an absence of the highly physical antics that marked the younger Marty McFly’s rock star wannabe character, but Fox showed the audience he’s still the same man with a rendition of  “Johnnie B. Goode.”

He was joined onstage by 80′s rocker, Joan Jett, his co-star from another of his slightly less beloved ’80s movies, “Light of Day,” and entertainment news and the audience went wild with the nostalgia those two brought onstage with them.

Fox has been suffering from Parkinson’s since 1990 and has been an advocate of Parkinson’s disease research, founding The Michael J. Fox Foundation which advances every promising research path to curing Parkinson’s disease, through embryonic stem cell studies.

While he’s best known for his Marty McFly character, Fox has also starred in countless teen movies in the 80′s, and is best known for his role as spin doctor, Mike Flaherty on ABC’s “Spin City,” for which he won an Emmy and three Golden Globes.

Rock on, McFly!
