REBECCA BLACK isn’t afraid of the bullying or death threats that plagued her after “Friday,” because here she is with another YouTube video release of a new tune that may or may not be the death of her…her career, we mean, such as it is.

Still, what counts is the overwhelming numbers that watch her videos on YouTube, right? And 167 million hits is nothing to scoff at, not even if critics have continuously savaged her kind of music as overly simplistic, or simply “inane”…

But Rebecca, being the 14-year-old that she is, has given a lot of teenagers her age a release from anxiety that her generation experiences every Friday night…having a date, or a lack of one. She even got a thumbs-up from Katy Perry who asked her to co-star in her hit music video “Last Friday Night (TGIF),” a geeky portrayal of teen awkwardness and goof-dom.

She followed up the much-lambasted “Fridays” with “This Is My Moment,” which was more polished but surprisingly not as popular. And now she has a new tune, “Person Of Interest,” which again, may or may not become a music video of interest, given it’s a sugary synth pop song that begins with a crime scene and Rebecca as a witness widely gesturing at a police officer on the scene.

Will this be another source of death threats directed at Rebecca Black?

Oh, by the way? It’s had two million views so far. So we’ll leave you to it…tell us what you think…
