A streaker upstaged HAYDEN PANETTIERE at the MTV EMA’s in Belfast while she was about to announce the nominees for best song. Leave it to MTV and Hollywood celebrity websites to make the most of our viewing pleasure:
A naked man, hardly taller than Hayden herself in her towering stilettos, ran across the stage to rousing cheers from the audience as the “Heroes” star prepared to announce the best song nominees, giving both live and TV audiences glimpses of bouncing private parts as the naked “leprechaun” pranced gleefully down…
Hayden appeared shocked of course, but as neither backstage crew or security made an appearance or even seem to be bothered by this breach, we’re assuming this whole streaker appearance was staged for the benefit of ratings. Either that, or the show’s producers didn’t think Hayden Panettiere was scream-worthy enough.
After recovering from her “shock,” Hayden proceeded to interview the man, who covered his sensitive bits and spoke in a thick Scottish accent. An awkward conversation followed where the streaker gushed he was a fan of Hayden‘s character in “Heroes,” and mourning the fact he didn’t have his phone to take her number, Hayden invited him to have a pint afterwards, and he ran off again, bouncing to the audience’s cheers.
Can you imagine this stunt happening in the U.S.? The FCC would have levied a multi-million dollar fine on MTV and suspend the show’s airing at the very least. But, hey…this is the Europe Music Awards…where leprechauns can prance around naked on television for all anyone cares.
