DAKOTA FANNING Gets Married
Here’s a shocker…DAKOTA FANNING gets married.
For a film role, that is. Ha! Got you there.
Seriously, though. It looks like Dakota, 17, is looking to break out from her usual child actress and teen roles. After all, she’s going to be an adult soon. Perhaps it may have started with that Lolita-like perfume ad for Marc Jacobs, “Oh, Lola,” because she’s slated to play a married woman in one of her upcoming movies…
Can Dakota hack this?
“I think actually in films I’ve done more adult things in other ones than I have in this one,”
The 12-year Hollywood veteran says of her latest film, “Effie,” where she plays the starring role in a 19th century Victorian love triangle.
“But this is my first time being a wife and all of that, which is actually kind of exciting and very fun.”
Marriage. Exciting. Fun.
Clearly, this kid needs to have a talk with Kim Kardashian.
“I get married in the movie. I had a wedding dress. It was kind of surreal,”
Dakota continues. Fortunately, despite the grown-up role, Dakota gets to be very demurely dressed in the movie, given that it’s set in prudish Victorian England.
“Wearing a corset every day has been … interesting,”
she laughs.
“It really does make you feel like you are someone else in a different time. It takes a while to get dressed in the morning and to take everything off, and you kind of get a glimpse into what it was like not being able to take your own clothes off. You have to have someone helping you and putting you into these clothes. It just shows how different everything was.”
Oh, whew! And here star news thought there was going to be some nudity.
Stay a 17-year-old a while, Dakota. It’s still three whole months until you’re legally allowed to strip in a movie, after all.
