“X-Men’s” MICHAEL FASSBENDER talked matter-of-factly about his full frontal nudity scenes in “Shame” where he’s starring with Academy award nominee, CAREY MULLIGAN. The movie’s about sex addiction (Michael‘s), so naturally there’ll be a lot of nudity involved, which earned the film an NC-17 rating with the film board.
While Michael has no problem performing what’s called for in the script, including masturbating in front of the cameras, he did feel a bit uncomfortable having to go through all those simulated sex acts in front of the film crew…
“You know, it’s always awkward getting naked and masturbating—well, simulating it at least—with a bunch of strangers in the room,”
the Irish actor explained to Hollywood gossip news.
“But you gotta get over that and get on with the telling of the story.”
Michael plays an out-of-control sex addict whose emotionally unstable sister, played by Carey Mulligan comes to live with him, making for an explosive situation.
Carey has some nude scenes herself, but what terrified her more was the scene where she had to sing.
“I always want to sing,”
Michael says wistfully, letting us know he’d prefer to sing rather than wank his crank or hump some girl in front of the cameras.
“It would be the reverse for me, because I’m singing all the time.”
Still, Michael‘s thankful his mom wasn’t around to see the screening of “Shame” at the Venice Film Festival recently.
“My mom was supposed to be there, but thank God, her back played up at the last minute. I think it was psychosomatic. Throughout the movie, I was thinking, thank God my mother’s not here.”
Well, that would’ve been awkward. And we hope she doesn’t decide to watch when it opens in theaters early next month, either.
But we’ll be there, though…because who wouldn’t want to see Michael‘s interesting bits?
