True, they aren’t your typical Hollywood couple but it looks like their diverging careers and personalities are taking them in totally different directions, and all their assurances that their marriage is strong as nails can’t explain why Katy spent Christmas frolicking in Hawaii in a bikini, while Russell remained in the UK partying with friends at a Cornwall pub…
Earlier this month, Brand laughed at rumors his marriage was on the rocks and told Ellen de Generes he was ready to be a dad.
But speculations ran rife again when the couple spent the holidays apart, and according to Hollywoodlife, Katy‘s at a time in her life with her career blazing like a firework, and she’s not ready to settle down and have kids just right now…something that Russell hopes will happen sometime very soon.
“Katy and Russell are just in two very different places right now with their lives,”
a source tells the celebrity gossip website.
“Their marriage is not working out. He’s in recovery and really trying to stay clean, but her lifestyle isn’t helping him at all.”
Katy and Russell didn’t even spend much of the first year of their marriage together because Katy was on tour most of the time.
“Katy is on fire right now. She’s touring and going out all the time,”
the source continues.
“She’s not ready to settle down and be ‘Mrs. Brand,’ but that’s what Russell wants.”
Which strongly contradicts the kind of life Russell claims he’s living with his wife.
“I’m married to Katy,”
he told Ellen.
“Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I’m still alive.”
So who are we going to believe?
