Star news says KIM KARDASHIAN isn’t likely to face a bitter divorce, but the annulment KRIS HUMPHRIES wants to file instead can threaten what Kim and her lawyers may have thought was an iron-clad prenup.
Because, no…Kris Humphries isn’t opting for divorce. Not only does he want the slate wiped clean as if no marriage ever took place, but his decision to file for legal separation puts the supposedly loophole-safe prenuptial agreement Kim had him sign before they got married in danger…
The thing is, the prenup, which would ensure Kim kept all the money she made during the marriage, would only be valid in the event of a divorce.
But Kris Humphries has countered the divorce with his own legal strategy – an annulment, which would proclaim in the eyes of the law that the marriage never existed. And this means any prenuptial agreement tied to the marriage would no longer be considered valid as well.
Prenups are only triggered upon divorce of the parties involved. Only Kris isn’t agreeing to the divorce. He wants an annulment, which may give him the right to override what was thought to be an air-tight prenuptial agreement, and potentially lay claim to millions of dollars for being featured in the couple’s $18 million wedding and subsequent episodes of any of Kim’s reality shows.
And after Kim‘s stunt of portraying him as the villain in this latest season of “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” do you think he’ll be backing out of his legal strategy anytime soon?
