KRIS HUMPHRIES got booed on his first day back on the court… poor guy. Although it’s pretty weird… why would they even boo him? Was it because of his association with KIM KARDASHIAN, who is fast becoming one of the most hated celebs in Hollywood today?
Kris, who recently returned to the New Jersey Nets, took to the court for the first time since the NBA lockout on Wednesday to face off against the New York Nicks at NYC’s Madison Square Garden. His reception? Well, to say that the fans didn’t look happy to see him would probably be a gross understatement.
The guy was booed… and heckled… and then booed some more. And, with about 20,000 basketball fans in attendance, we gotta say… that’s a whole lot of booing.
While the whole “Let’s boo and heckle Kris Humphries” thing was going down, MSG commentator Al Trautwig mused:
“That was not a smattering of boos… That’s ‘villain in the Garden’ kind of booing.”
Kelly Tripucka, another commentator, added:
“He’s now become the most hated man in the NBA.”
But Kim Kardashian’s soon-to-be-ex-husband wasn’t just booed… some fans even went as far as to hit him where it hurts. After speaking with an attendee, Us Weekly reports:
“Some fans even taunted the 26-year-old power forward with chants of “Reggie Bush,” Kardashian‘s long-term NFL beau with whom she split in early 2010.”
While Kris Humphries was on the bench, the crowd then joined in to chant “We want Humphries!” over and over again… but we expect that they only wanted him back on the court so they could boo him some more.
Sucks to be you, Kris.
After the game, when asked what he thought about the overwhelming hate, Kim’s estranged hubby said:
“I don’t know… I felt like Rudy out there… I was so focused on the game, I couldn’t hear that.”
We wonder if Kim is delighted to know that she isn’t the only one who’s being hated on following the whole divorce brouhaha…
