The normally stylish ASHLEY GREENE wore a discordant combination of leather and lace on the red carpet at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards earlier this week. Quite a letdown, since we usually expect Ashley to “bring it” whenever she graces the carpet…
Ashley Greene has a good number of red carpet wins under her belt, and they range from retro glam satin dresses to sparkling gold frocks—but this latest outfit, which reminds us of Jessica Alba’s black leather dress at the 2012 Golden Globes “A Promise of Beauty and Brilliance” Preview Event, is nothing but disappointing.
Ashley wore a custom-made DKNY leather dress, which featured a black lace yoke with long sleeves and a high, turtleneck collar. She accessorized with a chunky black and silver bracelet and a pair of black pumps.
So what’s wrong with this look? First, it’s too tight… you can almost see an outline of Ashley’s underwear if you look close enough!
Oh, and that lace! Leather and lace could probably work if done right, but as you can see this DKNY creation just doesn’t bring the two contrasting materials together in a harmonious way.
On a positive note, Ashley’s styling was flawless. However, her choice of hairstyle and makeup just didn’t go with the dress. Smokey eyes and an edgy updo would have made this look a bit better.
