Actress GABRIELLE UNION expressed her rage on Twitter over kids these days valuing fame over education. Hmmm…does the Kardashian Klan have that wide a reach, after all?
The “Life” actress, who’d earned her degree in Sociology from UCLA, made it very clear she was extremely disappointed in people who value fame over education. Which brings us to the question of how much reality shows have affected people’s (and their kids’) perceptions of fame and the supposed benefits it brings…
“When a parent can tell me their child’s fave basketball player/rapper/actor but doesn’t know the name of their kids teacher, [I feel] rage,”
Union, who’s set to star in Tyler Perry‘s romantic comedy, “Good Deeds,” ranted in a series of tweets on her social media account.
“It’s great your kid wants to model, but is she a model student? We’ve gotta get serious about education!”
With 7,000 U.S. high school students dropping out every day, according to CNN, who can blame her for complaining?
“you can’t blame the kids if the adults are the ones distracted from what’s truly important. Education is key!”
Union, who’s been dating Miami Heat pointguard, Dwayne Wade for the last three years, continued.
“Looks fade, money runs dry, fame leaves, entourage moves on 2 stuck some1 else dry…Education is forever”
Gabrielle Union, who’s a strong advocate for victims of sexual assault (she was beaten and raped at age 19) and bullying, isn’t as infamous as the Kardashians…or even other reality show stars out there…but don’t you think she has a point?
